Screen Print vs Digital Print Custom Canopy Products
Modern fabric print technology has enabled full color vibrant images to be permanently embedded into the fibers of specialty treated fabrics through a process termed DYE-SUBLIMATION. Over the past 10 years dye sublimation or the industry term, “digital printing”, has become the industry standard for canopy, flag and banner printing.
Most “digital” printing initially looks spectacular however there becomes issues with some inks and fabrics after sun and rain exposure.
Printing on 600 denier fabric, most Asian factories use this fabric, can only be done when the water proof and fire coatings are very low. This means that Asia Printed 600 denier tops do not typically meet the fire standards and they will leak and fade rapidly.
Be aware what fabric is being used for your Instant Canopy Tops. 500 denier fabric is specifically designed to accept graphic printing due to its tighter thread weave. 500 denier fabric also accepts a greater level of coatings which allow for higher water proof and fire retardant coating adhesion.
At Canopies Unlimited all of our printed Canopy products our made with 500 denier polyester fabric that was designed and tested by our product development team.
Traditional silk screen fabric printing only is used when high volume print projects are confirmed. In this process an initial print set up can be amortized over many pieces which significantly lowers production cost. Silk Screen however has limitations to amount of colors per print and the size of image required.
Canopies Unlimited has the experience to guide your print choice to the best option for you. We specialize and have experience in both processes.
